✨ Romances for the girls who grew up loving magical love stories, quirky small towns + Taylor Swift
🫶🏻 no spice, cozy modern fairytales and folklore

Marriage of convenience has been heavy on my mind Marriage of convenience has been heavy on my mind lately, and I guess it’s because I’ve been revisiting Chloe and Aiden. 🤭

There are a lot of things that make it a superior trope—the “my wife” moments, the falling in love when you’re technically already supposed to be there, the domestic behaviors that slip in when you’re existing in the same spaces.

But the sometimes there’s a delicious second layer to the story, that gives it an extra oomph. I’m pretty partial to Once Upon a Winter Beast (always have been) and in this case, it’s the single mom trope. It’s watching an eldest daughter single mom, who always prioritizes every one else… learn a little something about being take care of. It’s watching a man who’s never been a father step up to the plate and fill the role, even though that’s not in the “terms”. (Technically.)

I’m an absolutely sucker for a good man romancing a woman while also taking care of a child (or multiple children)… especially if there’s a baby involved. (Might’ve stumbled on a couple of those over the weekend!!)

And then I really tipped over the edge because it’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling. 😆🥰 *sigh* All my favorites in one beautiful story.

Side note: I was going to make a post about this book being a grief rep book for mental health May and to be honest, I’m coming out of some grief related funk and didn’t want to. 🤷‍♀️ I handle it with care in this book, and I’m honestly very proud of that—I just don’t want to fixate on it. 💜

But anyways: enjoy this closed door/no spice marriage of convenience round up! If you have any other recs, please drop them below. 🤗

And if you don’t have any recs, tell me what makes you love this trope! 💍
I’m a sucker for reality television. I’m pickier t I’m a sucker for reality television. I’m pickier than I used to be, mostly because I don’t have the time to indulge in it like I used to. 😆

My FAVORITE book I’ve ever written (sorry I absolutely do have a favorite) is Once Upon a Rose. It’s inspired by The Bachelor, but it’s actually a fairytale-themed reality show.

Flynn is the bachelor and Harper’s brothers best friend. She’s only supposed to do the floral installations and provide the roses… he’s supposed pt be looking for a wife.

BUT THEN… she gets roped into being a contestant at the last minute, and they get to wrestle all their feelings about each other in a sentient inn with opinions about true love.

*sigh* It’s a GREAT TIME FOLKS. 😆😍

And he’s inspired by THE Flynn Rider. Because yes, it’s also a Rapunzel retelling. 💅

I figure I can’t be the ONLY one who enjoys a good reality show, whether it’s a baking show, a dating show, a complete hot mess, a race, etc…

So I rounded up all the closed door/no spice reality tv romances I could find. 🎉

If you like reality tv, what’s your FAVORITE show to watch? Drop your suggestions below.

And if I missed any books, drop those below too! We all have growing TBRs. 😆🫶🏻

Unpopular opinion here: you don’t have to read ✨se Unpopular opinion here: you don’t have to read ✨seasonally✨ to enjoy a swoony, magical romance.

I know, I know. It’s spring! Everything is green and all the flowers are blooming and birds are making their nests… it’s the start of something new.

But here’s the thing: March and April are not my favorite months of the year (my mom was diagnosed with the c-word in March and we are days away from the “anniversary” of her passing in April) so I personally am just looking for ways to escape and settle into things that make me feel GOOD.

You know what always helps? Pumpkins. 🤷‍♀️✨

A grumpy MMC who can’t help but be soft for her. (And he’s her best friend’s brother. 🤭)

An FMC reclaiming her life because she’s been taught to shrink and that she only matters when she’s successful.

A giant family who claims her as theirs, and a little girl who makes her friendship bracelets.

Fairy godmothers, wishing wells, and magic humming in the air of a quaint little Texas small town.

OH—and they write each other enchanted letters. 🤭

It only made sense to set this modern (closed door) Cinderella retelling in the fall because a) it’s my favorite fairytale and b) it’s my favorite season but you can read it ANY time of year, because good love stories ✨never✨ go out of season.

Do you ONLY read books when they’re in season, or will you read them whenever the mood strikes?

The world is on fire and you need an escape, right The world is on fire and you need an escape, right? ME TOO. That’s why I changed my entire brand to modern fairytales infused with magic and whimsy.

The whole thing. I literally rewrote books for this purpose. 🥰

I’m looking for the readers who:

✨grew up loving fairytales but want modern versions
✨love fantasy but get stressed out by the high stakes (and crave cozy instead)
✨enjoy the idea of magic and whimsy existing IRL
✨crave the warmth of acceptance and healing
✨love Once Upon a Time
✨want cozy romance with yearning men who love their women
✨soft romances full of emotional healing
✨small towns that feel like you could visit them
✨and love ALWAYS wins

My stories of full of everyday magic pulled from folklore and fairytales, but with their own spins mixed with original lore from my universe. 💜

The world may be unrecognizable sometimes, but that why books exist—so you can find an escape in a world where you KNOW good and hope and love always win. That’s not a spoiler, that’s a guarantee.

What fairytale/fantasy aspect in your favorite in a story??

I write men who go feral for their woman. Now, b I write men who go feral for their woman.

Now, before you go all heart eyes on me, you need to know I’m not out here writing overly alpha types because honestly? That’s not what *I* enjoy reading.

I write men who SHOW UP. They’re not interested in what anybody else thinks (or what a romance plot should require of them)—they follow their hearts no matter where it leads them.

Sometimes that’s fast, sometimes it’s slow. Sometimes it’s soft/quiet, and sometimes it’s loud. It all depends on what the FMC needs from him. Because he’s not doing it for anyone else.

They have chemistry and create emotional intimacy with each other but the door stays closed—because frankly I have teenagers who read over my shoulder and don’t want to write smexy scenes. Kisses are tough enough! 😆

He may not give her the prettiest words because I personally know what it’s like to be showered in meaningless proclamations. But he’ll be honest, and when he does say to things to her—those words come from his heart.

I write men like my husband who stick through the hard stuff, the trauma, and the healing— they’re not afraid of the journey. They know she’s worth it.

And they heal right along with the FMC.

I write a lot of romances with history and yearning and people who step in when they don’t have to and become the family’s the MMC/FMC deserve.

So if you want men who maayybbbeee follow a different path and start showing up and having feelings earlier in the book than you’d expect? And they don’t waiver in their feelings, no matter how hard things get?

I got you.

Storywood Ridge and Enchanted Hollow are waiting for you to come visit. 💜✨
