Once Upon a Sugar Plum

I actually wrote a blog post earlier this year announcing that I was redoing Love at the Flower Cafe and that it would be called Once Upon a Rose. And then I didn’t follow through because it seemed silly to redo only one of the three stories.
I’ve actually wanted to give these stories new life for years now, but I couldn’t ever figure out how to do it in a way that made sense. Until a few months ago, when something clicked in my brain, and I said: What if I made them all fairytales???
And suddenly there was a fire under me to “fix” my original books, and I finally had a way to do it that made sense.
Love at the Sugar Plum Inn was the first book I ever published. Ever. It was released in an anthology and was short, sweet, and cozy.
But as I dove into it and fleshed out bits and pieces of their story to fit my Nutcracker inspiration (Clara and the soldier), I added more. And more. And when I wrapped it all up, it was about 18k more words than it was when I first published it! And I love the story so much more now.
The following two books will be released before the end of the year, but I don’t have dates yet. My middle book is the one I’m still working on, and I’m trying not to get overly excited and release them out of order, haha!
Now that they’re all going to be modern fairytales, I’ll have more than one series I’m publishing in, and lots of fairytales for y’all to choose from. I’m so excited and relieved to finally have a cohesive brand that interconnects and is more fun to promote. It was tough to promote three different worlds!
Once Upon a Sugar Plum is live now, and you can snag your copy to read during Thanksgiving!
If you’d like a peek at the music that inspired the book, you can save and listen to the playlist on Spotify!
