Hello World!

Since you’ve found your way to my little corner of the internet, I thought I’d take a quick minute to introduce myself.
I’m Monique, and like so many authors will tell you, I’ve wanted to write books for as long as I can remember. This wasn’t something I just did on a whim, though I’m sure there are many who see it that way. I got into trouble in many a class for either a) reading a book under my desk or b) writing on a story when I was supposed to be doing schoolwork. Come on, fiction is always better than reality! Right?
After high school, I grew pretty hush-hush about the whole thing. Turns out, wanting to be an author wasn’t exactly the “cool” thing to do, and it wasn’t really considered a “real” job. *Gasp!*
Fast forward a few years, and I graduated with a degree in elementary education. I taught for five years in the public school system here in Texas. I joke and say that being pregnant my final year of teaching saved me — I became a stay at home mom after our first was born. And while I’ve gone down many a path since then, I found my way back here to writing.
*cue the confetti*
Love at the Sugar Plum Inn releases tomorrow in the Sugar Plum Kisses Anthology, and it feels so surreal to have a book baby back in the world. This isn’t my first rodeo, as I released in an anthology about six years ago — but I stepped back for personal reasons. It took me until last year to be okay with writing again. (Another story, for another time.)
It’s a cozy romance in a world that sometimes feels anything but, sweet like the Hallmark movies so many of us love to watch during this upcoming season.
Thank you for reading my books, and allowing me to entertain you with my small town of Pine Cove Springs!
